# Sub-frame Interpolation
Multiverse always interpolates data at sub-frame level, this means Compounds use “frame interpolation” between samples stored in USD files (or Alembic files). Interpolation is performed both in the Hydra viewports and when doing procedural rendering.
TIP
Disabling Maya "Frame Snapping" allows to inspect fractional frames in the Maya Viewport.
Maya by default uses frame “Snapping”, meaning you only will evaluate integer frames in the Viewport. Disabling Snapping will allow you to preview frame interpolation in the viewport: when playing back or scrolling the time slider you will then see fractional frame numbers and frame interpolation.
Note
Interpolation is performed also when using file-per-frame USD or ABC sequences which are loaded as USD clips.
